Eagle River Master Plan and Stream Restoration |
 
Project Highlights:
- Client: Town of Minturn, Colorado
- Drainage: 3/4 of a mile of the Eagle River through the Town of Minturn
- Master plan included water rights, minimum in-stream flows and recreational uses
- In-stream aquatic habitat improved by reshaping the channel to the width appropriate for current flow conditions
- Riffle, pool and glide sequences characteristic of the natural channel type were created to provide quality and variety in-stream habitat
- Stream banks were stabilized using a combination of in-stream rock, soil stabilization and riparian plantings
- Over 36,000 native riparian plants were installed and 1.2 acres of riparian terraces were created
- Water quality improved by bank stabilization, creation of a natural flow buffer and installation of water quality vaults
